Re: How to Join the MCEBuddy Beta Program

Using the 1.06.10 (with or without Encode 3) and setting it to Divx 1280 (720P) results in macroblocks smearing around any regions of high motion (eg waving hands, scene change etc).

Both are crystal clear when viewed on my MCE box and with VLC (latest) on my XP stand alone PC. Apart from that though it's all working fine (retaining settings, not crashing, utilising my new Quad Core :-) )

    • Acer iDea 510 Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 x 512MB SODIMM, nVidia G7600GS

     Hi Phredeaux

I would like to test out this app for you, I am currently using 1.0.5

    * Vista 32bit

    * p4 2.8ht, 1gb ram, 500gb sata II, ati 9550, Dvico Dual digital 4

    * Mostly normal tv shows, converting to xvid (only have a SD tv)

    * Have a Nokia 6280, which supports 3gp and mp4 video, would be great if the app could convert the file into 2 separate formats?

I am having troubles with 1.0.5, keeps on going back to wmv conversion and the other problem is white dots on the bottom line near the left corner, hopefully these are fixed with 1.0.6.

    Thanks,

    Peter

Peter, you are now in.  1.0.6 does solve the not remembering bug.

    Cheers

    Deaners:

     Hi Phredeaux,

I'd like to participate in the Beta Program.  I'm interested in testing the conversion over a networked storage for my MCE.  Been having a problem with audio sync on HI DEF tv shows, so would be interested if the Beta helps.  I'm using MCE 2005 and HD Homerun with AMD 4400+ and 2 Gigs RAM.

    Thanks,

    Deaners

Deaners, a lot fo audio sync issues are being addressed in 1.0.6.  You now have access so give it a try.

    Cheers

    Needles:

    Hi Phredeaux,

Tried 1.06(10) with DivX (No resize because I'm only doing SD) on 13 shows so far. After just skipping through the files without watching the full video, none appeared to have any audio sync issues but 3 had bad encodes with pops, clicks & lots of pixelation. Pity I set it to delete original :o(

Going to try using H.264 for a while & see how that goes.

Great proggy, can't wait for MST integration!

    Cheers, DK

DK, Beta 11 has the new DivX encode and should work better (out soon).  Also, please post beta info to the beta forums.  i almost misseed this.

    Cheers

Sten, welcome aboard.  H.264 and WMV are fairly mature in the beta so you should not have many issues.

    Greetings, Thorsten, Germany.

    Thorsten,

1.0.6 supports standby and wakeup though it will not pause and resume and start over if suspended in the middle of an encode.  Also, 1.0.6 will not wake the system up to perform an encode.  1.0.7 is slated to perform that role.   Welcome to the beta.

    Cheers

Welcome to the beta Menzy.  1.0.6 has the network connection feature which should do the trick.

    Hi,

I'm using BETA 11.  I'm still having audio sync problems when converting HD TV (Bionic Woman) to DIVX and/or H264.  Anyone having success converting HD TV?

Regular SD TV conversion is working good.

Are you using Update 1?  The update is specifically for this issue.  Hopefully it works.

Also, please post to the beta forums if you can.
