Audio out of sync - coverting UK recordings

    Hi,

When I convert UK DVR-MS files generally they appear ok but after a while the audio goes out of sync.

I'm doing this on a Dell XPS420 running Vista Home Premium.

     Any ideas?

I am having the same issue.  I am running NTSC recorded in the USA.  I also installed this on a second computer and received the same results.  The audio will be fine for a while, then go out of sync.  I have not removed any commercials.

There is a know issue with H.264 and AVI sync which we cannot correct reliably, so we're going to H.264 and MP4 in MCEbuddy 2.0 as standard.  What format are you converting to?

Hi, I've since started to convert the DVRMS files with the DVRMSToolboxGUI - using Ffmpeg for the encoding etc.  Its blindingly fast (like 2-3gb movie in a few mins at most!) and so far has been 100% successfull in doing the conversion.

2-3GB in a *few* *minutes*.  Geez.  Are you just extracting to MPEG or converting to something?  If you are doing real conversion I'd like to know what setting you are using.

    Heh - i wish.

Its not "converting" the DVRMS file - just simply removing the wrapper that MS put over the underlying MPEG file - which is what you are left with at the end.   What stuns me is the sheer speed at which it does it - and there's no loss of quality therefore.

I do have a small problem in that I want to put the resultant MPEG's on a TV based media player but it only supports FAT32 partition types for TV playback - and quite a few of my MPEG's are over the 3.2gb limit so I need to split/chop them up.  The player is fine with this and seamlessly plays each clip in order (if they are numbered logically) - but with "some" films, when I chop them up (have tried different apps) either the audio just plays out of sync or its at half the speed of the video - very strange.
