It is a really nice codec
And it appears that the quality is better than Divx to boot (although I thought Xvid was just an open source version of Divx).
I uninstalled MCEBuddy 1.0.8 and installed the 1.0.5 version just for XviD. Works pretty good too!
hey BT excuse my ignorance, what program do you use to utilise the xVid decoder?
MCEBuddy 1.0.5 - http://mcebuddy.com/files/folders/publicbuilds/entry3.aspx
I did get tired of Media Center's crap of not letting me convert certain recordings (i.e. HBO) due to DVR-MS protection so I switched to a better "Media Center" program called GBPVR...

This program records everything as .MPG files which can be automatically sit to be encoded as XviD which is what I do.
Xvid will be in MCEBuddy 2.0. See the other Xvid posts for more info.
