    An idea for a simple fix for a major issue.

    First, this is a great little program.  Thank you so much!  I love it!

    ...but there is a little thing about it that bugs me:

    In case it wasn't already obvious, it would be great if MCEBuddy would convert files to a temp file, compare the conversion to the original once the process is finished, and then rename the temp file...and optionally delete the original.

    I think this could solve alot of the issues that people are having.

     I second this.  MCEbuddy should perform some sort of sanity check before simply deleting the original. I have lost several recordings due to this.

    Or just write a flag file which states that a file is in conversion. Delete it again when done. Start over with a conversion if the file is already there.

    Problem solved.

    I think this could solve alot of the issues that people are having.

    We're planning to do get the same result in 2.0 via another mechanism.  We check to ensure the entire conversion was successful without errors (100% complete and no error code result).  File is marked as converted (and then deleted if so selected) if the above works.  Comparing the two is not really practical.  Another catch-all option would be based upon file size vs expected file size.
