1.0.6 has a better conversion and also tells you the progress.  How long did you let the conversion run for?  It might not have hung, but taken a long time.  100% CPU is not a surprise, the conversion should take as much free CPU as is available.  However, they can take a long time, especially if you selected the High or Very High quality in 1.05.

it run overnight approx 9-10 hours. other divx conversions with mencoder and similar quality settings take around 2-3 hours.

 where to download 1.0.6 - can you subscribe me to the beta program?

werd, i want to try out 1.6 too because 1.5 takes forever and there is no progress bar so i do not know where i am at.

I've added you to the beta so you can get feedback on what is occurring during an encode.  If you still get an issue under 1.0.6 BETA7 please let me know.
