    Problem with conversion to DIVX

    I'm running MCEBUDDY 1.06 Beta 5 on Vista64

Can you check that little clip  : ftp://70.82.190.159/test.zip

I extracted a little wmv to show you what result I get. Rapid moving object or people have a lot of lines in it.

Previously I converted a 1 hour TV show with good results.

I did not changed any setting and now I get thoses lines in the converted video. I have the 2 DIVX files on my ftp

Getting it down now, though the encodes have evolved a lot through to BETA9.  You might want to try those, especially the 2 pass encode.  In the meantime I'll have a look at it.

    Cheers

Yes, just post your details here: http://mcebuddy.com/forums/t/15.aspx and you'll get onto the beta.

I just used MCEBuddy to convert 3 DVR-MS files, and the converted files (I tried both DivX and H.264) all had the wavy lines in areas of motion as described above.  I too hadn't seen this before.  The only difference with these recordings is that they were recorded from an analog tuner.  The previous files I have converted have all been from digital tuners.  Could the lines be some sort of artifact from analog noise?  Though the original file is not visibly noisy.  This was using the latest verision (1.0.6).

If could be a function of the median deinterlacer.  Try it again using 1.0.7's new encodes as I've swapped to the ffmpeg deinterlacer.

    Cheers
