I searched but didn't find any information on plans to support WTV, the new format Media Center uses once upgraded to Fiji.  I imagine it would be a substantial amount of work but unfortunately it looks like that's the format from here forward.  Are there any plans to support WTV?  If this is part of 2.0, I'd love to sign up for the beta :)

MS has come to the party and we now have WTV support in the latest MCEBuddy beta.  Note it is NOT a slot in replacement for MCEBuddy 1.0.8 in its current form.

Is it possible to convert WTV to DVR-MS on a PC without TV-Pack installed in beta 2.xx? I am about to do a clean install without TV-Pack and have some recordings in WTV I would like to keep, and maybe convert them later on. Great app bye the way.

Most apps that I know of require TVPack installed to manipulate them.  I would recommend using todvrms to convert the WTV to dvr-ms files BEFORE you re-build your machine.

But I wanted to use MCE-Buddy for this, that is why I wrote the question in this forum. I have now gone back to VMC without tv-pack- now to late to use an app that recuires tv-pack to be installed. The recordings I had in WTV was not that important and is now deleted.

To convert from WTV, you will need to run MCEBuddy on a system that has TV Pack 2008 installed.  This is because the filters we need to extract the video and audio from the recording are only present on TV Pack 2008 systems.  Personally,  I'm not going to TV Pack 2008 any time soon.  I'm only putting it in to MCEBuddy 2.0 for everyone else's benefit.

    Re: WTV

Hi there, I have a similar question:

Will MCEbuddy let me go from the WTV container format to a WTV without commercials (using a commercial skipping program)?  If not, is there any way for the output to be in DVR-MS?

My problem is that if I output the files in divx format, my extender won't currently play them.  I haven't used MCE buddy, but I am looking forward to it as it looks to be a handy program.

    Thanks,

    Ellery

PS:  I just replied to the beta request thread
