Sorry, the new profile transcoded as well. I think it needs wmv7,8,9 for Zune 80. What encoders do the other free software use, like DVR2WMV, DVRMS toolbox and AutoConvertDVR?

SOLUTION: Black bar removal

So I stumbled upon a solution by accident. When I was testing profiles for use on my zune 80 I was looking at the mencoder config file. I wanted to keep my files a little bigger resolution so I changed the size up to 640. The result cropped the sides but kept the file size at the specified 320x208. So...

For, keep in mind my specs: Zune 80, Windows Ultimate 32, ATSC Dvrms I tried both Ipod profiles (5 & 6) and can confirm that they both re-transcode prior to syncing. Both PSP profiles work. Looking at the mencoder config, there must be some minute differences that the Zune doesn't play natively...

Let me add a few things to clarify what I did. I recorded about 15 seconds of TV, renamed it to start with 1 so MCEbuddy transcoded first, and then started going down the line for export options. The WMV ones I tried didn't work but I promise you that PSP W worked for me without retranscoding. After...

I'll confirm that the 5th generation Ipod profile worked for me on my Zune 80. The zune profile did not. However, the Zune 2.0 Software did re-encode it before it would sync with the Zune. After some experimenting I've found the PSP W profile to work great and require no Zune transcoding. All...
